ok i have a 99' Civic EX, and i got a Pioneer DEH-4700 headunit for it. I had adaptors for the stock connector that i used to connect it first, but after having all of that connected it didnt work. So i then put back my stock radio, and it didnt work, even when i put in the code. So i am in a troubled position because it isnt working and i cant put my stock radio back in, because today i cut off the connector and connected the new radio and the factory wires. I also discovered that there is no "hot" wire in the factory connections (always having 12v). can anyone provide some help, like where i can get a hot wire or how to connect one

Thanks guys

Timm

There's a hot wire in that harness. A fuse probably got popped at some point. Go through and check all of your fuses and give it another shot. The only systems that I have ever seen that don't have a particualar wire are GM's that use the Class 2 data system and their radios don't have a 12 V switched ignition.

I checked all the fuses, all the wiring diagrams say that there is a yellow and black wire that is hot, but there is no yellow and black wire there...i tested again after checking all the fuses that i could find and still no luck

I'll do some lookin' while I'm at work. All my tech information is there. I *know* that there's a constant source in that harness. Make sure you're checkin the right one. It's the big gray harness, not the little green one. Just checkin'.

The fuse for the constant power is in the fuse box under the hood. it should be marked radio. The other fuse under the dash is for the acc or the switch power, hope this helps.
