Blue R34 GT-R in Seattle

If anyone here is from Seattle, have you seen that blue R34 GT-R yesterday (August 4th) at the car show in the Exhibition Center? I saw it yesterday driving away after the car show - it was amazing!
It had 19-inch Advan Model 5 wheels and a C-West/Motorex front bumper (like the one on the BlackBird) I did not notice if he had the whole body kit.
I've seen this car before downtown and on Alki (back when it was stock), I think the UltraSpeed guy owns this car. Any more info on this car would be appreciated!

The Blue Skyline that you have been seeing around town (seattle and other) is actually one of two like you saw at the car show and did myself there were two of them there is a blue and a white or grayish color. the other i think is a r33 if you know all the local race shops Garage SPL is where the two skyline can usally be spotted they leave them there i am pretty sure they own them or i know they work on them alot along with the red supra which was in the show also. Since you live in the local area SPL is located over towards northgate mall look it up in the phone book. If you dont get to see the skyline dont be sad the place is always full of nice cars and the peeps there are coo to :p

I really, really appreciate the info, TalonBoy, thanks a lot!
I tried http://www.GarageSPL.com and it turns out that this is their website, it has all those cars you mentioned earlier.
I got their address from there too, and will definitly stop by today.
I hope they can also tell me what's wrong with the whole blow-off valve thing on my 89 Supra Turbo.
Thanks!!!

I prefer Veilside....except on the R34's....they f*cked that sh*t all up. I'd have to go with the Do-Luck kit. I do like that color though.
I'm not quite sure who made that kit.....but it looks like a cross between Veilside and Bomex. I think it looks like ass.

I totally agree with you there 2.7. But, the veilside kits looks awesome on a R33.

Yay the blue one from SPL nice car, i spent like 20 mins just looking at them at the car show took me a little while to get the aww out of my head. both of them in my opinion are nice looking i even like the kits :p i think i would tend to fall for the R34 over the R33 white one. I was told it has new rims on it now gun metal i believe what it was, when i go back to SPL to pick up my short shifter ill take another peak at it. The one veilslide kit that i really like is the supras the red one from the show that was sweet gotta few pic of da too. Over all think it was a good investment for them to bring them over.

BTW: I sent and email to the Sales Manager and Garage SPL (the ones who own the Bay Side Blue Skyline in Seattle) and asked "How much they would sell me the car for" and I got no response:( Oh well:rolleyes:
Yes, I was serious. I know they want $120K or something nuts but hey, if it's just down the streat from where I live and already US legal. Maybe I could convince the wife we don't need to buy this new house:eek: Ya ok maybe not:finger:

I saw a Skyline the other night on Speedvision Import drag race in California. It was white, really could not see any details (none was given in the show), just one pass, and it was beat by a RX7, i think. Don't remember the time neither.

120k     you could buy a slightly used Ferrari F355 spyder for less than that :D

Ya, but you could maintain a Skyline for a hell of alot cheaper and have the joy of driving it every day:D

i'd still much rather have a Ferrari for that price
I'd go as high as like $75k

Ya I agree with you. Even the MotoRex price is a bit too much, twice the MSRP for a used car isn't the way too go.
Still I've driven a Ferrari and it wasn't as fun as a Skyline:D

Yeah, but have you guys ever considered that this is a car imported by a SMALL COMPANY?
If Nissan really tried to import the Skyline, it'll sell for half of what MotoRex wants. The cost they charge is simply a reflection of their R&D costs, and also the cost of legalizing the car with the EPA and DOT.
If you think I'm BSing, or saying that it won't cost that much, read this:

 Uh I think I did say "twice the MSRP for a used car isn't the way too go"
Most people I'm sure know (if they have been at AF long enough) that the Skyline's real price has nothing to do with the price that MotoRex is charging. Supply and demand is all that:D
BTW: Welcom to AF Mav1178:sun:

umm, r35, maybe you arent considering that motorex is charging you for the cost of parts/labor on coverting the line, plus they are also making back the money that they spent on the 4-5 skylines that they had to total to do the crash tests, its called corporate america, im sure ya see it every day and with everything that you buy, so there is no real reason to tear down motorex for simply trying to help out the american public. What they did was genious, and if you dont like it, then maybe you should move to a country where the govt doesnt require all these stupid fucking rules and regulations on cars. BLAME THE GOVERNMENT NOT MOTOREX:bandit:

 OKAY time to clear up some confusion here folks (especially Mav1178 and Micro read please).
I never said anything bad about MotoRex and if you take the time to see past comments or even the comments on this post you will know that I support MotoRex. I have no idea where anyone would get the idea that "I" think MotoRex is giving people a bum deal?! BTW: They crash tested 2 of each model to meet dot requirements for a total of 6.
"Most people I'm sure know (if they have been at AF long enough) that the Skyline's real price has nothing to do with the price that MotoRex is charging. Supply and demand is all that "
So again the price for a Skyline GT-R depending on the exchange rate of the day is roughly $50K. HOWEVER!!!! MotoRex does have to recoup the amount of money they spent on the R&D, parts that they install to make it US legal and yes labor. This equals the (R34 GT-R) costing you and I $90K from MotoRex.
NOW (read before you flame) is paying double the cost of a car (ANY CAR) a good thing? No, of course not. BUT is this better than no choice at all? I say “YES” and I have always supported MotoRex and will continue to do so.
NOW if any one reading this STILL thinks I am bashing MotoRex for bringing the Skyline state side, hey it's a free country (and to those not living in the US still your opinion)

Hmmm, I am still not sure you are in the correct forum here. I mean any real enthusist would give up his first born for a new 34 gtr, i mean its not like it isnt worth it over here when spending that amount of money plus 20 grand in modifications will make your car beat anything on the street, plus look 10x cooler than every other american piece of shit that is made today. But who knows with americans, even if you parked next to a pontiac aztec, there would still be people looking at the aztec and thinking "wow that sure is neato lookin" But then again that is probably why the new 4 door lines look a lot like egg cars (new vw bugs and every other new american family car), and I bet the Line doesnt get overhere in any other form than the g35, b/c nissan is too poor and stupid to give america the one nissan that they have actually wanted for the past 6-10 years, no they are going to bring back the Z car only, and then it will die again b/c its an ugly piece of shit. Sorry i put no hope at all in nissan bringing the gtr oveer here, so make the gtr a cult car and ill still be happy shelling out 80 grand for a brand new 2000 gtr:bandit:

Ya I agree with you I love the R34 the best too, but like you said it does all come down to personal preferance. Give up your first born for a car, not even I could ever be that desperate:D
BTW: Friend of mine spotted a Gunmetal grey R34 at Pacific Place in Seattle.

Okay maybe i shot the gun a little bit, I sould have said second born, and I dont think that there is anything wrong with wanting a ferrari, but one day when a skyline kicks your ferraris ass, just remember you said that ...:bandit:

p.s. And no i wasnt saying that the VW is an American car, that would just be stupid, i was saying that they look just as stupid as every american car that is made today with the exception of the viper. But thats a different argument for a different forum, so lets not get into that here...:D :bandit:

yeah you guys need to quit it with all the skyline ferrari ranting, no one cares. I can't find garage SPL either damn it, i just want some wide body for my E46 and someone to do a turbo install for my GTi! Anyways, Japanese cars dont have anything on european automakes, and for that matter neither do American cars. As soon as I see a stock skyline beat out a Ferrari F50 or a VW W12 or a Mclauren F1 or any other bad ass euro car, i'll let you know and give total respect to Japan. Untill then, shut it and gimmie directions to garage SPL!

right, well apparently you can't read because i never said i disliked the skyline, and i never said they sucked and i never said japan sucks...but nice try maybe next year. An awd twin turbo car is genius, and one that can be highly tuned is even better. But hey, think what you want...All i want is directions to a performance garage in Seattle, Washington. What do you have against VW anyway? A tuned import is a tuned import, only the driver really cares what country its from...

I like the look of all Skylines when they have the same body as they did after they came off the production line.
So i don't really like that R34. :/
