I recently purchased a '94 SE and would like to start working on it as soon as possible. I'll be doing lots of research, as soon as I find something good, I will let you know.

so....I have this 95 Bonneville SE and I was wondering if anyone knew how to increase the hp slightly by doing something to the air filter box, for instance cutting the bottom half of the box if you were driving a mid 90s grand prix......please help!

Anyone can agree that a performance exhaust system is a good start. The picture of the Green Bonneville looks great from the rear. Wonder how those aftermarket mufflers sound?

Does anyone know how much the newer bonnevilles weigh? I want to do a power to weight ratio on them.

A good place to start is with a CAI or a ram air intake. If you have an SE/SLE/SSE, open the exhaust up to 2.5" and start from the CAT back. I personally like Dynomax because it has been proven to be the best flowing muffler in its class, but its all about preference. Also be sure to install a 180 thermostat to keep the engine running cool and help it last longer. Oh, I almost forgot, upgrade the wires and plugs. I personally went the extra mile and got MSD Super Conductors, but Taylors do the job as well. Do not get Platinum plugs if your adding alot of boost, nitrous is my case (also if you have a supercharged model or are planning on a turbo installation). Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT get any bosch plugs, wires, O2 sensors, etc. They burn up and can do damage to a 3800 engine. Once you complete these steps, go for a mod chip. But chips greatly rely on what model and year Bonneville you own. If your interested in a chip, get back to me with your year and model.
Once you're done with the above...GO NUTS! :D

Your 98 Bonneville has a 3.8L Series 2 motor right?
Its the same motor in the 97-02 Grand Prix GT's. The upgrade parts that work on the Grand Prix motor will work with yours. You can put a cold air induction on your car believe it or not. ;)

Mufflers: I would go with Dynomax Ultra Flows. $130 for 2 or if you want to go the cheap route the get Thrush Turbos. Problem with them are it takes a long time for them to burn out and get kind of loud if that what you want.
CAI: K&N will be your best choice. $200 http://domesticperformance.com/shop/default.php/cPath/27_49_51
Im still looking for a performance chip. Im trying to find one for my GP as well...

Are there any very good looking ground effects or other body mods? The Bonne's look good, but could use a sports car face lift. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Platinum spark plugs should not be used in a forced induction application. Use copper core plugs. Also, dont waste your money on those 4 electrode plugs. Waste of money and dont even work. And the best bet would be to stay with what brand the manufacturer uses.

You'd be doing 0-60 in about 3.4 seconds with 425 HP at the wheels and 380 ft/lbs. torque.
Or not.

I have a 2002 Bonneville SLE and would like to put a superchip into it. I want to keep the modifications kinda conservative for my job so I probably don't want to put a louder exhaust on it. Any suggestions on how to get more performance? Will it work aliright with just the superchip and no other upgrades? Let me know. Thanks.

I would like my 98 SE, to have a little more HP. What would be the best way to go moneywise to get my car faster off the line?
I dont think the bonneville is to bad after getting started, i raced my friend who was driving a 05 Grand Prix GT, and my car kept up just fine after the first couple seconds...i never caught him, but kept the gap the same, and maybe even gained a little.
