can anyone help me..

This has got to be the most annoying problem ever. I have a 96 olds aurora and my instrument panal and a/c light won't work anymore. The problem is i was hooking up a new radio and in the illuminate wire there was splice and i turned on the power to see if it workded and instantly my lights went out. so i know that there was a ground that hit the illuminte power supply which killed it but i haven't had a chance to tear apart my car to find out. If anyone can help please let me know.

Don't curse me out for asking this. But can you put everything back like it was, and see if the lights come back on. Sounds like there is a wire or wires connected wrong.

That was the first thing i did and it didnt work. but i was thinkin that the wire gorunded out bc of the symptoms
