Hello and a Happy New Year to all! I had an oilchange done at Firestone on my 2001 Intrigue which has about 67K miles on it. When I left the shop, all appeared ok, however the next time I started the car, the Service Engine Soon light came on. Any ideas if this might be related to the oil change service? Any comments/suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you!
Thank you!

is it the change oil soon light, or is the service engine soon light
if it is the service engine light, take it back to them without delay. they can be held liable for any damage caused by them, which is not uncommon with lube shops. It maybe something like low oil pressure, which can be attributed to a loose oil filter. but definetly take it back to them
if it is the change oil light do this
put the key in and turn to "on" but do not start the engine. hit the gas pedal three times as fast as you can. it works for me to turn it off but i dont remembver the exact thing

Thank you for your reply. I did take it back to Firestone this morning, and he checked the sensors next to the oil filter etc, and it was fine. Then he connected a small computer to diagnose, and he told me the error comes up as a Secondary Air Injection something. He wasn't exactly able to explain what it meant but did say that they could run a full diagnostic on it for a charge and to come back. So yeah the light is still on for now. Any ideas?? Thank you once again!

Reason with them that they should give you a free diag on it due to it comin on after the oil was changed.

Thank you for all the replies. I took it to another mechanic and found out it is the secondary air injection, and that the motor was shorted, so had to shell out $$ and get it fixed. Oh well... Thanks again!!!
