Bubbles (HELP NEEDED)

I am still rather new to modeling, and am having trouble brush painting. When painting multitudes of bubbles appear in the paint (while still wet). It looks like when you blow down the straw into your milk and the bubbles come up. That is as good a description as I can come up with. Has anyone ever encountered this? It prevents the paint from coming out smooth because of the holes left (pinholing i believe...). What is the cause and how do i keep this from occuring?

try washing the parts in soapy water before painting. also stir your paint, do not shake it to mix. quality brushes help too.

Painting too heavily can also cause bubbles, try painting in several even, thin layers instead of one heavy layer.

Are the bubbles in the paint from when you mix it or do they form on the brush? What kind of paint are you using?

I find Tamiya acrylics horrible for brush painting because of bubbles and streaks. I tend to stick to enamels for brushpainting.

From my experience, the bubbles are most likely caused by shaking the paint bottle before you start to paint. Try stirring instead of shaking. If you are patient, you can let the paint bottle sit for 15 minutes before you start applying the paint after shaking...

General tips on brush painting:

- Thin the paint down(you need to experiment the right amount of thinner to apply).
- When you apply the paint, try not to overlap too much.

It was the fact that i was shaking the bottle before painting. I now use toothpicks to stir the paint before brushing and, as suggested, am painting thinner layers. Thanks for all your help guys.
