I replace handle on drivers side (about the 5th time!). Door locked (has an automatic one-yuk) and now will not unlock. I opened up door panel as much as possible and am almost able to get to lock mechanism from there. All the linkage is good. I stuck a screw driver in there to try to move the higgamuhjig a little further but... It tries it unlock but can't go that last 10%. Something is jammed. I'm thinking that I'll have to remove seat and possible cut out some metal on door to access lock area. The panel will cover that up. Anybody have any better ideas?

Hey, I might have an Idea i pulled one apart today. What do you suppose could be stickin because i know if you look up in the door where you think it might be stickin give it a little spray of wd-40 or something that. Since you pulled that off maybe oyu might be able to help me with something how might i go about changing a door handle???

Since you pulled that off maybe oyu might be able to help me with something how might i go about changing a door handle???Thanks, that would be an easy fix. I'll try it. Put one of those red straws on the can and really dose it good. About that handle, I just remove the two nuts holding the trim. They're on the inside of door. And a philips screw above the latch. OK, pull that apart. Now the linkage will still be connected. Disconnect that with a small screwdriver or something. It sort snaps together. And now remove the torx screw that holds the key lock in the door. It'll slip out and will hang til you're ready to put it in the hole in the new handle. Now, I've had some trouble with the linkage, adjusting it out or in until the handle operates smoothly, just wait and see. What year lumina is it? Did you buy the handle yet? They have them around here. $40, straight from Taiwan with a one year warranty. My wife tears em up......
