engine monitor

title says enough ... n e one know of anything that i could monitor my engine with on a 95 yj 2.5L
sounds crazy but i watched fast and furious or whatever it is and i noticed that they had laptops hooked up to monitor their motors... well is that possible in a jeep .. cause i have the laptop just nothing else haha
