Does the VSS have any effect on cruise control......I have checked fuses, physical linkage, brake switches and lights, but I cant seem to get the cruise to work, also sometimes while maintaining speed on the level, I will see the RPM's seem to drop off gfotr a couple seconds, and then come back to where they were.........dont know if that may be related as well.....the vehicle does seem to the same power as it had before.......just those two things seemed to happen around the same time.......thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, the VSS affects the cruise control. the cruise module picks up it's speed signal from the VSS, so a faulty VSS will cause no cruise operation.

Hey Richtazz.............thank you Sir.........does any of the other stuff I mentioned sound possible as being related to the speed sensor as well?

Could be, but RPM drop is normally a crank position sensor problem. No crank signal would also affect the cruise operation, as the cruise module needs an RPM signal.

Richtazz...........now thats startin to make more sense.........one of the problems with that car I find is that its not very easy to get it scanned for trouble codes...........normal places that do it free..........dont seem to have the proper equipment..........thank you Sir

Being a 95, your car has the ALDL for the OBDII (16 pin vs 12 pin), but yet still has the OBDI computer, so yes, getting it scanned is a bitch. Also, it has 2 crank sensors. One is behind the harmonic balancer, the other is in the back of the block.
