Tranny or clutch

We have a problem with our 93 civic first off i thought the clutch was messed up cause it seems like it was stuck in second gear but found out if we would put it in a gear the car would not move but as soon as we put it in nuetral the car goes but cant get it to go in reverse it catches all the gears but wont move only in nuetral feels like a auto tranny you can drive and dont need to shift. we took tranny out and clutch is very thin but woundering if it could be the tranny. If anybody has any info i would appreciate any help. :disappoin Thanks EZFrank
