Does anyone know the vin numbers for the US version of the BMW M3 lightweights. Approximately 100 made for the US market. I have found one for sale and want to know if it is authentic. PLEASE HELP.

In the 1995 model year, BMW only produced 120 to 125 of these cars. Only 85 cars made it to the USA. These cars today fetch high prices when seen for sale. There is no market for them because so few are ever sold, they sell for what the buyer is willing to pay. On the other hand though, not many are ever put up for sale due to the fact that most of the 85 owners decide to keep them. They can easily be recognized by the checkered flag painted on the front driver side of the hood. All in 1995 were white as well. A person has a better chance of being struck by lightning before seeing a "true" lightweight m3, since so few vew were ever produced. But to check the vin number on the vehicle all a person has to do is call their local certified BMW dealership and ask someone in parts to run the vin number for you through the computer. The fastest, easiest way to check out a used BMW.
