Fuel Filter replacement ?

So, this is the first time I've replaced a fuel filter. I got the clamps off and then realized two things.
A. I need to bleed the line (where do I do that?)
B. Should I pull the filter completely out of it's cradle before removing the lines?
I read that some ford models require a tool to replace there filters but this one looks pretty straight forward. Any help would be most appreciated.
