Good gas mileage, low insurance, affordable?

Hey guys.
First time poster here but I've been reading for a while. Anyways, my parents are finally letting me pick a car that I want after a couple of years of driving around there old beat up Geo Prizm. Well, if possible I would like to buy a car that has potential to drift but it does have to meet a few requirements. It can't be super old (95+ish), it needs to get decent gas mileage (At least 20+ in the city), and has to have decently low insurance. My budget is around $10K - $15K.
After reading through the sticky and a couple of other threads about good drifting cars I've hit a wall. It seems like a lot of good drift cars are older (AE86, Datsun 510, Datsun Z's, etc.), high insurance (Miata...for a kid that has been only driving for a while the insurance would kill me on a convertible.), or bad gas mileage (SC300, IS300, Mitsu Starion, Chrysler Conquest). I was hoping that you guys could help me out that would meet all of my requirements. I know that it's asking A LOT but I was hoping that there's a car out there for me. Any suggestions?

Okay, thanks. It seems like the 240SX is the obvious choice as it seems to fit all of my requirements, I am looking at the Porsche 924's/944's as they seem to have a huge fan club around some forums. How do you think that the 924/944 compares to the 240SX?

Besides the fact that their ugly, parts are expensive, they're the body roll masters and they aren't powerful... Its a pretty cool car.

Miatas aren't bad to insure, since most of them are either driven by people who never drive them or 50 year old bearded guys.

i thought you wanted the good gas milage...you certainly not going to get that with the 944 V8...not as good as a 240 though....
second, you need al that stuff u want when you want the porsche...they cost a lot of money to maintain, because they are pretty 'old'.
buy a 240, swap it with a SR20DET and have about $5000( AFTER the swap) for some simple modification to the suspension, tweak the engine a bit(up to 300 horses will help you a bit for a starter, when you are getting better, you can opt for more horses) LSD and you're pretty much set for the moment.
