Amp help please.

Alright, after researching the Power Acoustik LT1920/2 a bit more, I realize that I need a more powerful amp to power two Type R 12's. I'm getting the Type R's on Friday, I don't care if I have to drive to the secret Best Buy on the moon. Anyway, since I work @ Best Buy and get insane discounts on car audio, I'd like to get my amp there. I was looking at getting two Power Acoustik LT980/2 amps. One for each sub.
I can get those for $80, I believe. Can someone recomend me an amp, or two, from Best Buy that will power these subs? They're the Type R 12 4+4 DVC's. I can wire them down to 1 Ohm if I can get an amp that is 1 Ohm stable.
I randomly thought about wiring the subs this way... Instead of wiring down to 1 Ohm mono, I could wire down to 2 Ohms Stereo. 2 Ohms per sub. Like this, right?

If I wire this way, I would be getting 440 RMS to each sub. Is that enough power?
