I'm on my way to the parts store, so I need an answer lightning quick! I have an oil leak on my '96 Blazer and was wondering if a bottle of "Stop Engine Leak" would help my car until I can get it to the shop next week?

Most of the time it is a waste of money. If you have a very small leak from an old seal, using this or heavier oil might slow it down but not stop it, and heavier oil is not advised. You may have the same problem as me with leaky oil filter lines. Not aware of anything that will stop that except replacement.

Yeah, in my opinion its a snake oil. Do you have any idea where the leak is eminating from? Maybee a recent repair, or oil change? Not to insult intellegence, but If you havent allready, One thing that could help you eliminate a problem, is if the drain plug is loose, and even the Oil filter is loose and not sealed properly. Just a thought, good luck.

If your reffering to that really thick additive that looks like honey then it actually works for a short term fix.

When I first got a 63 Ford 1/2 ton I used it to get around until the re-build kit got in.

If you use it though consider doing an engine flush when you get it fixxed and change the oil and filter.

Thanks, guys. I didn't get it. Since I don't know where the leak is coming from, I figured it would be a waste of money.
