I was wondering if anyone could help me with the port for my 18sx
I got it built but i need to the port still...and i was wondering for the port do i need the dimensions from outside the box or inside?

I design custom enclosure for $10. It includes full specs, cut-sheet detailing exact size of all piece needed to cnstruct the enclosure, and a sketch.

wait you have the box built but you havent done the port yet? meaning that its a sealed box and you want to add the port? in that case youre pretty much gonna have to use pvc or aeroports..

what kind of music do you listen to? if your more into Rock or just about anything that uses guitars you would benefit from a sealed box
However if your particular genre is Rap/Hip hop etc you would benefit from a ported box
also you need to come up with the volume of your box to get an effective port
Exapmle youve got a 2 cubic foot box and your using a 6 inch port, its not going to have very much resistance which will give you poor bass response whereas if you had a 2 CF box with a 3 inch port you would have resistance which gives you that bummmmmmmmmmmm bum bummmmmmmmm low tone rumble.
i guess it all depends on your music taste, i personally have a 6 CF (give or take a little) bandpass box running 3 ten inch kicker pro subs maximum bass for just about any listening taste. hope this helps a little
