Need some color help (MotoGP experts)

I am building the Italeri 1/9 Camel RC211V bike. The instructions do not call out a color for the yellow sections because it's already moulded in color so no painting neccesary :thumbsdow Anyway I picked up Tamiyas TS-34 Camel Yellow thinking it's a Camel sponsored bike it should be Camel Yellow. The TS-34 is too orange according to the pictures I've seen so I think I am wrong. What other yellow options do I have and what does Tamiya call for in their 1/12 Camel bike kit? Thanks in advance for your help.

MIKE try the tamyia spray TS-16(yellow) it is what I used on the 1/12 version and is what Tamyia say to use.
Most of the colours Italeri say to use are wrong for most of their bike kits

Also Mike a little "heads up" - watch out for those Tamiya Yellows!

I've read in several threads since I joined, that they do not cover very well, are runny(?) and can be a bit temperamental :). I've not used them yet but I plan on combining camel yellow with a chrome yellow undercoat on a project I've got coming up.

I'm pretty sure that a "tamiya yellow" search should kick up the relevant threads for you.

Best results I've had with Tamiya yellows came from decanting them and then spraying through an airbrush. Otherwise I've found them very tempremantal (runs, bubbles, too much pressure in the can, to little pressure in the can etc.). Also they don;t cover that well so you need a very good solid primer to spray them over.

I used Tamiya TS Yellow on my Audi Sport Quattro and it covered very well.I had no problems with runs or anything.Use a good white primer and build it up in thin coats and it should give the desired result.

I done some "Pennzoil" stuff plus a couple of yellow horses (1 testarossa with TS16 over camel yellow for tone depht) and I havent any kind of problem, only
-use on (tamy)white primer, 3 mist plus 2 wetcoat; warm-up can before on tiepid water
Ts16 support as well also a 5/6 layer clearcoat with not problems

problem with pressure: I've found on almost ALL Tamy can I used, obviously when the can is full the pressure is pretty high, so spray a litle bit far, when the can still empty the pressure decrease...

Thanks slightfan, that is what I will use. Looks like TS-16 is a way brighter yellow.

I'd agree with the person that said to use TS34 (esp since it sounds as if you allready have it) under the TS16, just to darken it a small bit. Esp on the bigger scale bike. But TS16 as a final layer is the way to go, for sure!

I agree to all of the above as well. I've seen a TS-34 Camel bike next to a TS-16 one and TS-16 is definately the way to go!
