HI
I am new to this forum and also just purchased a 92 GT3000 VR4. I have several questions and any help greatly appreciatted.
1. any good service manuals out there and or owners manuals.
2. Right hand fog light replacement bulb and how to get to it to change it.
3. sport tour switch broken and need a replacement and how to change it.
4. The exaust pipe that connects the 2 banks is rusted out at the first flex joint and what would best replacement be for it.
5. More power needed! Best cheapest way to achieve this?
6. what is the normal boost on turbos for these. My gauge reads up to the top 14psi is this right for stock or is the gauge off or has it been modified. (what to look for.
I guess I have a lot more questions than I thought but any help greatly appreciated.

There should be an automated FAQ machine that would post FAQ on posts that should be referred to it.
(check the FAQ  )

the FAQ has most of the answers to your questions, but i'll see what i can answer off the top of my head:
1. Service manuals--> YES! you can purchase them in book form from www.3sxperformance.com for nothing cheap, but what i would recommend is the manual on cd. it can be found at www.manualcd.com--> 3/S Manual 'backup' CD. much cheaper, around 20 bucks i think. great resource.
2. fog light replacement--> H3 bulb. can be found at most hardware/local auto parts store for a few bucks. to remove fog light, access from underneath front bumper, disconnect fog light, remove 3 bolts, remove fog light. remove back cover of fog light housing. NOTE: bulb is held in by crimped metal connectors. NOTE 2: since you have a VR4, you might have to remove the front active aero dam underneath the front bumper to access the fog lights.
3. broken switch? --> you can find a replacement at the parts for sale section of 3si.org (http://www.3si.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=4). to remove, it simply pops out from the dash. use a flat head screwdriver to pop it out.
before you buy a new switch, make sure its the swith that's broken.
is the the Sport/Tour switch for the EXHAUST or SHOCKS?
4. your downpipe is rusted in several places--> a good replacement would be one sold at www.3sxperformance.com. the one they sell improves the exhaust gas flow.
5. more power?--> FAQ has good suggestions for this. turn up boost, stock turbos hold only 10/12 psi to redline. upgrade turbos. upgrade fuel. get a frount mount intercooler. etc etc.
6. normal or stock boost for the 91-93 cars is 7psi, i believe. someone may correct me on that.
Welcome to AF.com. the FAQ thread is a great resource, also the Search feature is very helpful. if you want to find out more, www.3si.org is a great place for researching the 3/S cars.

:grinno:
Oh and as far as boost numbers. That gauge is a plastic POS, it doesn't measure boost, it measures load and other factors via the ECU and kinda guesses. The real numbers are somewhere in the range of 91-93s 9-11psi, 94-99s 10-12psi...give or take.
Check out the part in the FAQ on 'free boost mod'...you'll like it :evillol:
Then check out the mod guides as well.

as well you should hit some of the other sites, welcome newb, and why is it instead of just typing out the answer or posting a link to the answer people would rather rant "why dont you search or check the FAQ's"

Honestly, because many of us spent many many hours writing that thing. We did it because every week we were spending many hours writing the same replies to the same questions over and over and over again, because nobody used the search button.
I have no problem answering questions, that is how we learn. I do have problems with people not putting forth an ounce of effort to find the answer for their question when it is 2 seconds away from them.
So to save myself and others time, we wrote the FAQ. Now instead of answering 20 identical questions a week, we can simply say "refer to FAQ" and not waste our time.
