I have a "69 cutlass, 350 automatic convertible, and want to install a new starter as the old one appears shot. It is an after market peanut style. The old one had only 2 posts, one for the power cable and one for the control wires. The origional type that I'm installing has 3 posts, one for power and two for control labeled "R" and "S". Which post does my control wiring go to, R or S? Thank you for your help.

It goes on the "s" terminal.

The wire from the ignition switch attaches to the "S" terminal. It is the yellow colored wire on my 69 Cutlass. The third wire attaches to the "R" terminal. It a purple wire on my car.
