Passenger seat tilt problem

I have a 2003 wrangrler sport and am having a problem with my passenger eat not tilting forward. The seat moves back and forth just fine but does not raise to tilt forward which makes access to rear seat difficult. Everything "looks" to be ok - nothing obvious to be wrong. Fell may be locked up (some rust) and tried WD40 with no luck - just won't even budge. Any ideas on troubleshooting or how to fix would be greatly appreciated.....

Pull it out, flip it over and see if you can manually release the catch. You can take the cover or upholstry loose to see what's nit going on.

not to insult anyone, are you pressing down on the release under the seat PRIOR to trying to tilt it forward?

The '03 has the pull strap on the outboard side of the psgr seat, right? I've found that one smooth, brisk pull will bring the seat forward.

I am running into the same problem, but how do you take the seat out without flipping it forward?

You should be able to remove it by removing the bolts that hold it down. The seat moves forward and backwards to get to the bolts. You will need a hex and combination wrench.

Remove the seat and look on the under side.

I tried to insert pics but upload errors
