97 740il will not start

I'm having starting problems with my 97 740il. When the car is cold it starts fine, sometimes after the car is warm, I'll put the key in the ignition and turn the key, and get nothing but ignition lights, after a hour or 2 the car starts again. I have replaced the starter, and ignition switch, what else could cause this its driving me nuts?
