Hello, im a newbie to this forum but know how they work. I am working on my GF's 94 GA SE with the 2.3L SOHC Quad Four. It has a rough idle. As soon as the slightest amount of throttle is given, it smoothes out. I have gone through several cans of ether looking for vaccum leaks and have replaced the IAC, Crank sensor, O2 sensor. i dont know what it is. Do you have to set The IAC when installing it so that it is in the right position. Please help. Thanks JEremy
PS, I smell unburned fuel also and fuel mileage sucks in general lately.
this is really burning my balls. Please help. :banghead:

I replied with the same response to another idle problem. Could it be that it (the idle) is actually set to low? Is that even relevant in cars anymore? I know that a previous car i owned just needed the idle adjusted and it was fine. Not sure if that will help or if it is even a possibility or cause of the problem. Good luck either way man. Later.

IAC means. Idle Air Control Valve? motor. Not any cars I know of anymore with an adjustment on them. thanks for the input though.

Yeah, thanks. Not trying to be rude. Just frustrated. Trying to keep this thing out of the shop even though i think it would have been cheaper at this point.

Seeing as how you are running too rich in addition to the bouncy idle, I would've said 02 sensor. But you said you changed it (which one?) - so I would say it could very well be injector related. Either dirty, clogged, or stuck open. I would take it to a shop and have them professionally purge / clean your injectors / fuel system - it may very well be the cure.
