Hard Jerk

Well, I really don't know what's going on but I'm thinking there might be something wrong with my car. When I was leaving to pick up some lunch this afternoon, my car jerked REALLY bad as if I let off the clutch too quick. It jerked once really hard and then the check engine light came on for a bit and then went off. Anyways, this wasn't the first time that it's happened--it happened 3 other times but I just thought that maybe I really was letting off the clutch too quick or something and it usually happens early in the morning when I'm leaving for work. But today, I'm certain that it wasn't because because I let off the clutch too quick. Any ideas as to what it is? I just changed my plugs and wires over the summer. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I drove a 92 stealth that jerked real bad at mid throttle or off shift and it turned out to be egr valve. this also may be consistant whith check engine light. hope this helps.

Hmm...is there any way to confirm this? I remember the gasket that fell out and I almost threw it away at first because I wasn't sure what it was but umm...how hard would it be to replace the EGR Valve?

Slade, do yourself a favor and get that CEL checked. I forget which year you have, but autozone will do 96+ for free, and stealth316.com has instructions on pulling it from the ECU with other years. Or any datalogger could do it as well.
There are just too many possible reasons for that, and you really need to find out the code before you start throwing money at parts you may not need.

plug it off. there is a post here some where for that or maybe it was on 3s1. anyway would not really cost anything to plug it off.
