I was thinking about buying a cheap, early/mid 90's eclipse or talon to swap in a 4.6L Ford V8.
I don't know much about these cars, so I came to ya'll asking if it will fit. I'm also gonna change out the transmission with the Mustang 5-speed standard.
What do you guys think?

Maybe if you made it rear wheel drive. Keep in mind that the weight distribution will be alot hevier in the front, affecting cornering ability. Suspension will of coarse need to be replaced with beefier units. If you're really serious about taking on this type of project, why don't you consider getting an Eclipse GST (front wheel drive) and remove the back seat, and place the V8 in a mid engine configueration to drive the rear wheels. Now that would be a machine!

Why dont you just build a GST/GSX? If the car had a shitty, unpowerful, and virtually unbuildable engine I'd say go for it, but with the 10 grand you'd need to swap all that shit, you could have built one monster GSX.

asking this question prove you dont have the fabbing skills but if i were to drop a v8 in any dsm. i would get a 1.8 and drop in a northstar. i with enough fabbing skills this swap might be possible for about the same as a 4g63t swap would run you but you would have 100 more hp stock but no turbo
