My speedo stopped working while i was driving a while back, ive switched the sensors a few times with extras laying around and checked all the wiring. 2 days ago i pulled out the speedo sensor from the tranny, put my finger in the hole where i could feel the gear, and had my friend jack up mycar and throw it in 1st and gt it movin. and the gear is like broken off the shaft its connected to. so the question is.... is it possible to fix without having to take it to a shop? like does the inspection plate let you change the gear or what? throw a line if you know anything. thanks

It seems like you should take it into a shop. If anything is broken in the tranny, you should take it in right away, and see what they say.

If the gear broke pff, then you will have to replace it. The gear is plastic so just let the gears in the tranny grind it up. Then after a few days, change the fluid in it and it should be alright.

Well you can feel the geer in the tranny, the white plastic one. but where it connects is broken... if i could fit super glue in it, lol. but id assume that gear was easily replaceable if its plastic... like there is that inspection plate on the side... so id assume it might slide out. but i just wanted to know if anyone has had this problem...
