Rear Disc Brakes

I have a 2001 Rodeo 4X4 with an automatic tranny, 3.2 V6, ABS. My rear disc brake don't seem to be doing much work. I change them (they weren't worn much) and still have the same problem. I have bleed the rear with no luck.

any codes popping up?
if they weren't worn much, why did you change them? how do you know they aren't working--is stopping an issue now? sorry for all of the questions, just want to get a bigger picture to help find a remedy.

How do wear patterns on the rotors look? Do the caliper pistons have full stroke? also make sure the pads and calipers are floating freely. The rears by design do less braking than the fronts, it's not 50/50 as far as I know. How do you know that backs aren't working? Rodeo nose dive is common on factory (or worn out) shocks. New shocks = no nose dive.

No codes. I changed them cause they where hard. I can tell they are working but not real good. If I hit them twice they work better, that's why I bleed them.

The nose dive is one reason I thought they weren't working right. I replaced the shocks 6 months ago.

If all wear patterns are good, it's possible the rotors or pads are glazed (too smooth). The rotors always looked horrible on my 2002, even when the truck was brand new @ 5mi. The brakes always took a firm foot on ours. I changed the factory front pads with another set of OEM's at 36Kmi, still the same.

How can you feel the rear brakes? I'd say change your front rotors and pads and bleed it. You should notice an improvement then.
