Hi,
I have a 1994 dodge dakota v6 3.9 L and had to just replace the fuel pump and now the gas gage doesn't work. Any one have any ideas?
By the way I found taking the truck bed off to be much easyer than draining the tank and pulling it off.
Thank you and have a great day.

The sending device for the gas gage is located on the fuel pump and is easily damaged... it's possible that it was bent when the pump was installed (of course it could have been DOA when purchased).

you must reindex the position that the pump sits in the tank if you align the arrows as the manual says to do the level unit hits the side of the tank lift pump and check the position of the level unit arm and readjust by turning in the proper direction

You both were right, bad sending unit (DOA) and it was not put in correct, pulled it out and took back and they replaced it with new one and is now installed correctly and the gas gage and everything is working fine.
Thanks for your help and have a Happy New Year!
