I have a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and the headlights will shut off while driving down the road with no warning, after shutting off they flicker back on and off. Is sounds like the relay clicking on and off under the dash while it dose this. Is this a relay problem or a light switch problem? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :screwy:

Try turning them on, and use your hand to knock or vibrate that relay (basically mimicking any movement during driving conditions) If not there, pull out your switch and do the same to the harness while they're switched on. You just may find the problem this way! I had to do this with an a/c blower going on and off in my father in law's Grand Marquis. I found that the loose connection had a broken locking tab which in turn from road vibration would cut and connect power all the time.

It's most likely the headlamp circuit breaker in the fuse box, inside the car. Replace it with a new circuit breaker, or like I prefer, with a 30 amp fuse.
