"lifelongslacker" & "directory" you were right!!!!! it WAS the heatshields & clamps!!! i couldnt tell they were rusted loose from looking but i had to pull on them with a pliers, the clamps were rusted on the backsides. you guys are lifesavers!!!!! thanks!!!!
as for your comments catfuzz, i have worked in automotive all my life, i also have worked (for years) behind the counter at Napa, Pepboys, Daps,as well as working in a few shops & a tire store, so no, you have no clue what kind of person i am , and you`re way off, sorry. So i am all too familiar with the person u described. it was amusing to see a couple of you take things so far out of context. if you guys have all the time in the world to play games, then that is you, but AS I SAID BEFORE (and you can`t seem to get this thru your head) "i have a certain level of automotive knowlege already and am interested in hearing from people who have had this problem & know what it took to fix it."
If it were a computer problem, an electrical problem, it would be different, but this is a mechanical problem, so theres only so many scenarios that apply and those who have had this problem know what i`m talking about. those that haven`t, probably won`t. thats just how it is. if you got your feeling hurt, then i`m sorry, maybe i`m used to a different & more direct and EFFICIENT approach in finding automotive solutions, that you`re not. but if you wish to field through several random hypothetical guesses, then thats your approach to troubleshooting, there are several people that know absolutely nothing more about a car than putting in gas & turning the key ,that you can keep them running in circles with billions of random hypotheticals, for weeks,if youre lucky, maybe even months. but when someone comes on and asks a certain group for advice, that is no reason for you to get all offended. if you dont know, you dont know, GET OVER IT!!!!! i didnt know, thats why i asked!!!! get a hobby :loser: ...or some counseling.
