That's looking great, but the fact you're still working is awesome. I know I'd be off for a while if something like this happened. I wa saway from classes for a broken finger for a week, for a broken heart it'd be a year! Bravo. BTW, Looks awesome.

A great "worm's eye" view.

Is the car local to you?
(Luv to see some pics of it.)
Haven't see one of those in a long time.

bling bling rims

your enormous ignorance of the VW scene has been evidenced in a very brutal way. Those arent "blings", those are Empi 5-spoke wheels, classics for classic VWs for almost 40 years. And they look the part in Lemorris drawing, along with everything else. Let us see the finished version man, its awesome.

Actually the guy who owns this car has some odd rims on it. I used an empi 5 spoke as my base but once the final rendering is done it will look different. They kinda have an empi spoke split in two with a slight overlap and a little point between the spokes.

I laid in an empi 5 spoke for direction and a foundation for some artistic license. So ultimately you both might end up correct...depends on how I fell when I get there.

Nicecar, I don't get it.
Why do you get yelled so much?
Maybe you could change your name
to MEANCAR and people would
leave you the F$3y alone. :)

People are just bad like that.

If they think someone is nice, they take it as vulnurability and yell at them to make themselves feel superior.

If they think someone is mean, they tear up their clothes, run into a police station, and scream about how they were raped.

He should name himself: Car

The return of my car caused me to focus on some other stuff for a little bit so I had to let this drawing sit. (security gates, shifters, surveillance cams, midget ninjas...etc.) OH...then last night I had the pleasure of watching the Arizona Wildcat basketball team get their a_ses handed to them by UCLA in person, which is not good here in Tucson...but I digress.

Here's the Illy stuff with my drawing as a template under it.

Here's a closer look at the line work. That is by far the hardest rim I have ever drawn....and I'm still not quite done with it. I may exercise some artistic license...lol...we'll see.

Lemorris!

I didn't knew that Mistie had problems...or the problems had Mistie. Thank GOD she is back.
Really, i went from calm to completely sad and than back to relaxed.
I'm really, really happy that she is back.
And you even found time to keep us up to the whole situation.

Best wishes to Mistie and You!
That the year that started (with mistie home) be full of happiness, health...The best things of life.

Bye

I can learn so much just by studying how you map out reflections.
Are you going from a good reference photo for the reflections,
or just creating them up?

Hey, LeMo... What a talent you are. I just went to your site and saw the Mistie is Back clip... your article left me LOL... All I could think about was Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant." Robo

The Arizonza Wildcat b-ball game going into overtime caused me to spaz more than I wanted to last night but I got a decent jump. The car is actually primer only. The color here is a little off I think but the owner is a computer type so I'll get him to send me a base tone RGB and I can adjust the channels later.

hey Magliano!

good to see you around.

I think that type is known as a 411 or a 412 to us over here.

The paint almost seems to have a cool "metalic" reflection effect, very nice.

How many channels/layers are you using to create the body color?

lemorris
01-22-2006, 10:33 AM
I've got 14 channels but only 6 colors. I have 3 or 4 black channels because I was building certain areas on them and I didn't want to cross over something else I had set. I could have controlled it on the actual channel but I'm bein lazy because I know when I convert this to a flattened rbg file it'll all mush together anyway.

Thanks for the info. Wow, 14 channels, still can't get it to think that way.
I now use multiple layers, but I'm focused on the "object" of each layer and not the color.
There are usually many colors/objects/details in each of my layers.

Time to get out Jeri's tutes and think about using "channels" again.

lemorris
01-24-2006, 12:35 AM
you can apply the same stuff to layers Blip. The reason Jeri and I do them in channels is because the channels become the t-shirt films. So as you render you do your separations for printing. Great time saver.

here's the final

Thanks Lemorris, so far my printing service uses a "digital" transfer process and not the traditional screening method.
I do need to figure out the seps process to up the quality of the printed t-shirt images.

The image looks like it has been clear coated, there's so much depth to the color. Very nice.
