Hey was up guys... im new to this site.... um i have a 1998 lumina and i was wondering if u guys can give me any information u know about sounds....i know nothing about sounds and i would gladly appreciate if you would tell me nething i need to knwo about sounds or wat to look for wen shopping.... my friend is offering me a pioneer premier..1000wat each speacker.....400rms...all for $110. is this a good price or am i getting ripped off... and once again i would apprecaite if u tell me everything i need to knwo about sounds.

Sony is always good. I dont think you need a 1000w speakers. 100 at most.

100W? Most aftermarket 6x9's handle more than 100W.
Nate consider this too, 1000W is your speakers max wattage (think about when the bass really pounds) not the value for constant wattage.
That's where your RMS rating comes in. 400W RMS is not too shabby. Kinda depends on what you're trying to achive.
I have a set of 375W RMS Jensen XS subs in a bandpass box (I know people rag on Jensen) - paired to a 400W Power Acoustics amp in my town car. Now I'm not gonna win any contests, but its definately enough to give you a good back massage. :iceslolan (and it definaltely cost more than $110.00)
I'm assuming the subs are 10" or 12" - you could easily pay $80-$150 each for those speakers.
oh yeah, talk to the guys in Best Buy about Sony speakers - the xplod series use inferior voice coils that have a tendency to overheat and pop - seems xplod was a good name to choose. I asked around, and time after time, the xplod series gets returned to the store.

So if 400rms isnt good what would be a good rms?....are sony speakers good and r they expensive????im not trying to spend over $450 including the amp, radio, and speakers. so give me soemthing that will bang hard but in the price range... and i knwo u cant find good speakers at best buy with the price range, but what about the flea market? i heard that they give good deals..thnx for the reply man
