Console/Speaker Box

Hey guys I have a 1980 Chevy C-10 and I just installed bucket seats and I am wanting to build a console that I can also use as a speaker box to fill in the empty space. I have never built a speaker box before and was wandering what kind of wood I should use? How big does it need to be to house 2 10" sub woofers? Does there need to be any holes in the box?
