You have no more inherent rights than anyone else, such reasoning is eerily similar to that used for justifying eugenics, which has no justification. What if the 450lb woman is a scientist who discovers a cure for cancer? That makes her better than you, right? That would mean she's more deserving of a better life than you, right? WRONG. On so many levels that is WRONG.

Should you judge people by their appearance? Should you judge people by their accomplishments? How do you know what they've accomoplished if all you see is their appearance?

The Bible says something like "don't judge people, or you'll be judged yourself"...that's a warning that means "most people don't hold you with the same high esteem that you hold yourself".

you're right, maybe she's 450 lbs cuz she works odd hours to find that cure for cancer, screwing up her eating habits, and i respect her because she is intellectually better than me. but physically, i have her beat. there are so many different levels to compare people. i'm not religious so i don't base my opinions on the bible, and how many people can say they never or rarely judge people on appearance? it's part of human nature to do so

Remember, we are not all created equal, but we should be given equal opportunity. Does that mean some people are better then others? That question is to broad for a simple answer. People are better then others at different things. Jordan is a better basketball player then Hawking, but Hawking is a better physicist.

Some of you who are all high and mighty about people not being better then anyone else aught to remember that the next time you're slamming away on rednecks, liberals, republicans or any other group you don't like.

There's a difference between arrogance and confidence. There is nothing wrong with being confident. Having a better body, a higher education, or whatever else you want to say about you is better...does NOT make you better than the rest. While you are posting about how wonderful you are online, there are people out there in the real world who are doing wonderful things such as trying to find that cure for cancer, figuring out ways to have more for less, contributing to society, fighting a war for their country and sacrificing their lives for our freedom, building homes and offices for us to live in and be productive in, the list goes on and on.


You can have the best body, but still ahve no friends because you are too stuck on yourself. You can have the highest level of education, and remain jobless because you lack experience. You can have all the money in the world, and still have nothing. You can be perfect in every way possible on the outside but so fucked up on the inside.

What really matters in life is that you are content with where you are at in life. To me success is getting the bills paid on time, enjoying what I do in life and maintaining good relationships with anyone who is in my life. You don't need millions of dollars, a college degree or a perfect body to achieve that.

Not that it's a big deal, but that is one of the biggest myths of our time. Yes, he failed a math class in grade school, but that was because he didn't do his homework. When you study physics as Einstein did, there is no difference between it and math.

i agree, life is about perception. if you are happy then that's all that should matter. life is also about judgements and improvement. let's say you got a job promotion, which is awesome. clearly you weren't the default choice and only option. you had something the other people who weren't promoted didnt. you are better than them at the job, but maybe they're a better drive, better parent, better golfer or w/e. people are better than others in SOME aspects, but not everything.

Whether you think your the best the worst or somewhere inbetween does not matter, those are only words, the reasoning and result is what matters.

its quite odd, even though opportunites increase, people's intelligence decrease. i do not exactly understand that, i will have to figure that one out.
even in college, there are so many ways to get help (professors, TAs, tutors, study groups, writing labs, the INTERNET, etc.) but people just do not take the initiative. i am constantly hearing shit such as "meh, i don't care as long as i pass", or "just put down any answer, i wanna leave".

anyways.. the only way to actually be better than other people is to be humble. Being cocky is not being better. Believeing you are better does not make you better. Being better makes you better. And the instant you start to classify yourself as better than everyone else, you put yourself right back into their ignorant group.

I just want to focus on my life, help those in my life who need help, accomplish my goals, and remember those who helped me do so. And at the end of it all, I will only be hoping for others to do the same. I think that is the BEST way to live your life.

people that think they are on a pedistal usually get knocked off. i cant stand cocky mofo's. im smarter than 90 percent of the people i work with, yet i dont go around calling them idiots. i teach them the right way to do things, and that makes me a better person then ur cocky self...........in my opinion anyway....
