recently my check engine light came on. The dealership wants to charge me $350 for a new pressure sensor. OR $200 for a used one. What do you think i should go for. Im leaning towards the used one. But does that sound like a lot of money to anyone for a sensor?

..... i kno nothing about sensors, and i can't imagine it'd be too hard to do yourself, check around on some different parts sites, eclipsed4utoo had a good one and you could prolly get it cheaper and give it to them to have them do it

go here... https://www.mitsubishiparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html

in the mechanical parts section, choose your year eclipse, then search. then choose eclipse. on the next page, you will see a search box on the right hand side of the screen toward the bottom. type in "sensor" and then click "go". scroll down the page for a MAP sensor. they are around $100. then see how much the dealer will charge for just installation. if its too high...try somewhere else.

Just got the car back I gave em the go ahead to take one outa a blow spyder engine $50 ain't bad, thats what they ended up charging for the part. WOW with the computer functioning corrently, i noticed an increase in hp. Bought the car used and im guessing it sensor was bad when i got it, they just must have reset the engine light so it didn't come back on for over a month later. It's nice to see what it can really do now.
