How to construct a decent paint box?

I'm tired of the dust. I always spray water before paint. Always wash the piece, but, no matter what I do, the dust is always there. I don't know what to do for solve that problem...
I think I'll have to do an special box or something. There are a tutorial or something similar for that??

I use an old microwave for drying spray paint.

Where is located that club? Do yo uhave some pics? I'm interested in build a replica of an Amuse Supra... I love that car. Do yo uknow where to get pics of it?

I have a storage bin. It came with openings on the top, and both sides as handles. I put cheese cloth over the openings with duct tape. Works well, only time I get dust is when I spray and sometimes none at all...actually most of the time no dust. I spray in the garage, and bring it inside to the storage bin and let it sit. But unless you have a spray booth (walk-in) your gonna get dust, even if you can't see it.

I'm not happy abt my spary booth: vent is in back-up so is quetly a cross-draft (also if vent position is 40 cm tall from spraying base)

so I turn on the vent (kitchen kind) spray on the booth, after a couple of minuts put the model on a box (like a big transparent frigo-box with cover) semi-closed and leave, i come back after a couple hour and turn off the vent.

I do it lately but when I made the booth I collect some dust on models: so better spray outdoor (-3° C just now)

I spray at evening on my ofiice that's also on my house and I make models in an other workshop every in my house.

It's actually an old laminar flow chamber from a laboratory that I picked up for 10$!! It only wieghs in at 250kg! :uhoh:

Doesn't suck the fumes out but it sure as hell filters he dust out and blows clean air over my fresh paint. Also it makes a great, well lit work table.

Actually, it doesn't need front glass :biggrin:

This is the kind of table used in bio-labs where a "clean" work space is needed. Air is sucked in from the front at the bottom, it goes through very fine micro filters that remove even bacteria and then the filtered air is blown out from the back of the inside work area.

The positive and continuous flow of the air from inside the work area to the outside prevents particles from getting into the chamber.

Imagine trying to light a candle in front of a hairdryer and you'll get the idea.

My problem was like yours - DUST everywhere. Now my problem is solved (albeit quite radically :rolleyes: )

I spray into the bottom front to remove fumes and then place painted parts inside to keep them dust free

This an old and well used one. I was lucky in that someone owed me a favour and was replacing some old lab equipment. I got to buy it for the symbolic "penny" :smokin:

He he, yeah, that's what I call a lucky guy...

Right now my paint booth is a 27 inch tv box....works great. Then Im going to get a coworker to build me one out of aluminum so i can set it on mt 24 x 36 desk . he will make a sliding front door on it and then when I get good with the airbrush I will paint it like an actual shop.
