Here's the deal. I want to add some color to the interior of my 92 civic. I would like to paint the area surrounding the guages, the drivers vent, the two vents in the middle, the large vent on top, the passenger vent, and the rather small vents on either side. I havn't tried to take any of the vents out yet, cuz I am afraid to damage the vents. Can anyone give me any tips on how to get them out? Also I am having trouble finding vynl die. What store could I find some, or what site could I order some from? Is there any alternative?

Any help would be greatly appriciated!!!

Well I got bored so I decided to try to take out the vents. I ended up breaking a plastic clip on the large one of top of the dash, but the other ones are holdin on so its all good there. When I tried to get the passenger's vent out it craked at the bottom, and I think I broke mad shit inside, but it is still wedged in there. The gauge cluster is another story, I am scared to mess it up, cuz i have to look at it all the time, and I still cant figure out how to get that bastard out. I took the two screws out but it won't budge. HELP ME!!!!

Yea, I had the same problem removing the trim from my 92 civic hatch. As far as the front speaker covers, the top vents, and the door trims, they can simply be pryed out without having to worry about breaking plastic or small clips. I also had problems removing the passenger vent because the actual trim is part of a larger vent assembly and doesnt disconnect from it without breaking. As far as the main dash section is concerned, the two upper screws have to be removed first. Then, there is a screw behind the hazard clip you have on your dash. There are two large plastic clips on the top of the trim that dont cause problems, but there are two small metal clips on the bottom that can break if your not careful. Just make sure all 3 screws are out, and try to remove it gently. If worse comes to worse and you end up breaking something, since you have a civic there are tons of replacement trim parts off ebay.
