AFPR and some other fuel stuff...

What exactly does it do? Does it allow more fuel to be sprayed into the chambers, thus increasing performance alittle? What else is really required for it to function properly, just the fuel pressure guage and then the regulator? I'm also gonna pick up an airfoil as well. And one last question, is there some safe stuff out there that i can put in my gas to clean the fuel injectors some what?

In theory raising the pressure would allow more fuel but since the injector pusle width (on time) is controlled by the ECM it will just lower the pulse width to keep the same amount of fuel entering the combustion chambers. What it does do is allow better atomization of the fuel...to a point. There is a fine line between optimal and too much pressure. Most people add an adjustable regulator when they have modded their engine or when the stock regulator craps out.
You'd need a gauge to setthe regulator but ifyou use one of the ones that screws directly to the fuel rail...don't leave it on there, use it to setthe pressure then remove it.
The air foil won't get you any performance gains..especially on a stock engine. As you mod the engine and the air demands rise it can help.
As long as you don't have the Multec injectors you can use pretty much any quality injector cleaner.

(P.S., thanks for giving me the 101 on the afpr, what would be the best pressure for a stock motor, with 1.6 rockers? I here 48psi is good.)

Rockers are pretty much a straight forward install. Get the engine to #1 TDC and remove the rockers. Install the new rockers but do not tighten the nuts. Get a manual (chiltons, etc) and it will have a procedure for setting the valve lash...follow it carefully.

The rule of thumb for fuel pressure is no more than 10% above stock (on a stock engine). So with the stock TPI pressure being 43.5 psi, 48 psi would be the max you'd want to go.
