does this only happen in hawaii, or are there a lot of other states like this..

the cops in our state seem to be able to drive almost any car..ive personally seen altimas with blue lights, Toyota land-rovers..a old corolla.. other SUVs..etc etc.

well anyway, i was driving, and i needed to merge so i cut off a toyota landrover... i hear a siren go off, and you know, its sort of hard to see over a land rover to see that fcking blue light... >_<

well, he laughed at me, told me to watch who i cut off, and let me go..
but yeah...

how come they can drive any car now days...now im scared to cut people off :P

his exact words::

"you were going kinda fast...35 mph+..."
"next time, be careful who you cut off"

>_<;; at least he was a nice cop eh?

I know where i live there is a 2000 ls1 ss camaro cop car it is blue and that fucker is FAST. There is also a green GT mustang that is a cop car and u can not tell they are cop cars. I would like to see the two cop cars in a race, that would be a good one.

yeah..theres a bunch of those..but i count those as a part of the "cop car bunch"
the camaro, mustang, crown vic, caprice...

theres a black camaro (im not sure if its LT or LS..)) that lives near my house. its the "Ricers nightmare" and theres also a couple of GT mustang cops also..i know of two or three white ones around..

whoa, a 69 nvoa?! thats h3lla crazy. i would be like babying that thing if i had one.. ahh well. lolz, be careful guys..i think most of us arent stupid and drive crazily, so i think its mroe "be careful of being pulled over" than "be careful speeding".

i personally keep my throttle under control whenever im around other cars//have people in my car.

if theres open road... hehehehehehe :iceslolan

yea its ridiculous.. there are so damned many undercover cops. I know there are a few in chargers, expedtions, F-150s, Taurus' and God knows how many others. It's getting to the point where you're never safe, you can rev at a cop and you'll never even know it till he gets behind you and puts on the sirens.

No one likes to be cut off - but unless the person has a gun, only the police can do much about it. When helping my three kids learn to drive, I would ask them "Would you do that (what ever they did) if that car was a police car?"

I have not travelled the road for a couple of years, so it may have changed, but on a road near my home (NY 390), the State Police use Mustangs and Camaros to patrol/catch speeders. But they are plainly marked. Unless they have changed the law again in NY, you cannot be stopped for a traffic infraction by an unmarked car, even with red lights. This is because several women have been stopped by unmarked cars with red lights in the grille and the person was not a police officer.

They also use unmarked Mustangs and Camaros to try to get someone to race them, and then the hidden marked police car actually does the stop.

I live in OK and the only cop cars i thought we had were the avg. unmarked ones. A friend that I work with has a Z28. He came into work and said he was pulled over for racing a cop. He said a black GTP with very dark tented windows was next to him at the light and they took off kinda easy. The GTP was pushin in front, so my friend gave it gas and pushed up a little. He said this went on for about 3 times then they both floored it and took off. At the next light he floored it and the GTP pulled behind him and turned on the lights. The cop told him that he is part of the racing task force or some bs. I guess the cop told him that if he is going to race do it some place safe and make sure you know who it is and let him go.

ha man thats funny. but no i lived in south carolina all my life untill about 4 years ago and the cops there drove mustangs and range rovers and even pickup trucks (that looked like they werer owned by rednecks) ahh how i miss my home state. but yea you guys got to watch out for those cops these days. and if you get to mad at the cops just go watch super troopers that movie always cures all.

Is it just State Troopers that can drive their cars of choice...or can City cops as well?

cops can do what ever they want, but the state cops probly have frist choice on cars, but a city cop in my town drives a denile but it is not undercoverd.

We dont have very many different cops up here, easiest way to tell though an unmarked cop is by their liscence plate, even unmarked cop cars have XX for the first letters of their liscence.

I am a cop in Florida. Florida Highway Patrol uses the ls1 chevy z28's and now they are using the Supercharged Mercury's that look like Crown Vics. I have a 2000 ls1 formula which will smoke the Supercharged Mercury but the ls1 z28 with the police package is really fast. The normal Ford Crown Vics are pathetically slow and most v6 motors will outrun them.

here in illinois we have unmarked camaros, mustangs, mini-vans, and dodge intrepids, tahoes, crown vics, impalas, and few caprices still.

now the marked cars get more interesting. around the springfield area there are:

county: tahoes, dodge durangos, impalas, crown vics
state police: a corvette, dodge intrepid, caprice, impalas, crown vics.
local: dodge durango, crown vics, impalas, and a caprice or 2

being the capital of illinois, the secret service are now using lincoln towncars, suburbans and chrysler 300c's--black of course.

what i think is funny, a lot of caprices came up for state auction (when they switched to impalas. so everyone bought them up. the state police use a few unmarked caprices still, and catch a lot of people with them, as some folks think they are decommissioned...until they see the lights shine.

in nyc all i see is impala's and explorers for cop cars, thats wierd that an american state(hawaii) would be using an export car for cop, usually they only use domestics...
