I just wanted to share another project that im working on. Besides working on my Pro Street Camaro i have had this one on the side for a while and decided to share it with you all. Body work is almost done but i dont know if i should open up the doors .I know ill be getting questions on were i got the wheels and tires from and here it goes. I got them of a 1/14 scale R/C Nissan 350Z car i found at "Big Lots". The car was priced at 20.00 but since it had no remote i asked the manager if they were going to price it down and he said Yes. I bougth it for 9.99. I been working on scratch built items for the Pro street but i will try and keep this one more simple. Ill post as i go along.....Enjoy

Here is something that would look nice although, I generally like more graphics. Look at the Max Polic car.

the wheels are from R/C car. The tires are Tamiya wich i had to modify to fit the wheels. I also had to modify the wheels to work with the tires...:shakehead

That sucks about these big kits, not many options for wheels. I've been asking around for some time trying to find someone who is willing to fully machine a set

I hear you. I looked around alot over the years and have always kept my eyes out for anything that will work. If you find the wheels you cant find the tires and if you find the tires you cant find the wheels. Its always a back and forth game. I belive alot of people out there who know how to machine a set dont want to because they are afraid of the out come for the reasons i just mentioned but if you send them a set of tires i belive they can work with us. Its just hard finding someone who is willing to work with us so they can also take the credit for their work. I know theres alot of people out there who would not mind paying a few extra bucks for wheels.. Anyways i been working on the rally sport grill and heres my progress. Its not as easy as i thougth. Im a little farder along than these pictures and ill post those as soon as im done.

Tires aren't a big issue, as I plan to make and cast my own tires. I've pretty much got the process figured out. I've been willing to pay upwards of $100 or more for wheels, That is a big thing that my project has been waiting on. I can't go any further with the suspension until I get the wheels to make sure I get the geometry right. I'm hoping to find someone willing to help out with 2 sets of wheels, either machined aluminum sleeves to hold resin wheel centers, or fully machined wheels. I should be taking some CAD classes over the next year and that might get me the use of some CNC machines or rapid prototyping...time will tell

Its been a while. ........ But just recently came back and started again. I went away because of life and doing restirations on real 1:1 cars including my real 69 Camaro. During my time away i put away my things but now im back and dusted things off and since being back i scratched built an LS1 and bought wheels from Micro Nitro and also everything i could from TDR.

Are those HRE replica's? They are SWEET! If you don't mind me asking, how much did those wheels cost? It seems as though I had a quote from them some time ago, but I can't find it.

Hmmm....I liked the thought of making as much of my 69 from scratch as possible, however, there are many more options for parts than when I was working on it several years ago. Looks like I am going to have him do up some wheels for mine! I will probably make my own tires.
