timing issues 92 golf 1.8L 8-valve

hey guys, new here, but im impressed with the wealth of knowledge. i have a 92 golf with a 1.8L 8 valve engine, cis fuel injection. i installed a techtonics cam in the car, and before i installed the cam, i already had this problem. when accelerating, easily or full throttle, the car seems like the flyweights in the distributor are sticking. it will accelerate as good as it can, then acts like it runs out of advance, then all of the sudden, it starts accelerating properly again. ive had the distributor out and apart,checking for worn bushings or anything else worn, and everything is in good shape. i also know that the car does not utilize flyweights for timing advance, and that it is computer controlled, so my question is, what could cause the hesitation when accelerating? any and all help and advice is greatly appreciated!!

I am currently having the same problem. I just swapped the engine over on my 92 Golf and I have been checking everything I can think of. The car also has difficulty starting at first but once its started and warmed up it runs a little better and will start again easily enough. If anyone has any information on the hesitation during acceleration it would be greatly appreciated.
