trunk lock

For some reason my trunk won't open everytime when i unlock all the doors. Or sometimes it will open but then i go to close then try to open it again and it won't. It's like it will open when it wants to. I have to use the unlock on the door cause i only have a valet key and for some reason i have no trunk release just a gas tank release. Please help.

You dont have a trunk release inside the car? That's really wierd. Even the RS model has that. Did you get jewed or somethin? Hmmm.....im confused.:confused:

I don't quite understand what you are saying, so I will just tell you how my trunk works on my 2000 GS-R. There is no trunk release, so you cannot "pop the trunk" like in other cars. The trunk has a handle underneath the rear emblem, which I am sure you are aware of, and that handle is only functional when the doors are unlocked as well. When you lock the doors, you lock the trunk...and vice Versa.

I understand the way it works. But i thought my car was the only one with no trunk release.thanks for clearing that up but can you tell me why it opens when it wants to open, I have all the doors unlocked but the trunk just doesn't want to pop up when i release it from the little handle thing.

I have no idea why that is. Maybe you should take it to the dealership.

I dont know if all are like this but my hatch only works with power it may be a fuse, wire, something electrical. I was installing my system and left it for the night with no battery and closed the hatch came back and found it would not open without the battery

I am having a similar problem.....when i first got my GS the rear latch would work sometimes, but now it does not work at all. I have to put the key in and and give it that full turn to the right to mechanically release. Im sure its some kind of electrical problem, just not sure what.

Any help would be appreciated......
