Anyone else think it strange that a rear wheel drive Ford beat out all major Japanese cars, in japan, in a drifting contest non the less?

This would be considered an O/T thread. They happened from time to time.

I can't believe Vaughn Gitten Jr. won japan vs. america. Vaughn isn't even that good. I'm suprised his car even made it through the event. His car broke down in like 2 of this years past formula D events. But atleast an American won the japan vs. US this year.

Looks like he had a really good run. He's got some serious side angle hapening, on the edge of loosing control. He's got my respect!

Yea the boys in the 240sx forums were fuming about this one. From what I heard from one of the guys there, the judging was really fucked up and etc.

If any of you guys follow drifting closely there's no way Gitten and a fuckin Mustang would be able to touch D1's top drivers. I{ll have to see some videos tho before I can ever give him props.

I didnt watch it, was Tarzan judging? If so I got no complaints, Yamada knows whats the shit and whats not.

Ionno. If you remember, the last D1 vs. USA the judges were all japanese and not a single american made it like past around the quater or semi-finals. I think Rhys was the last American standing.
