cd player problem

Hi, how's everyone doin? I have a 2000 cavalier z24 and on my cd player display it keeps saying check cd and you can here it ejecting about every 2 seconds or so. Just wondering if anyone out there has come across this kind of problem and if i can fix it without dismantling my control panel. :confused: Thank-you
