Hey there!
I'm working on my wife's 2000 Elantra. It got rejected from state inspection for no brake lights. We ahev had this problem before with this car and it was the brake switch. I know where the brake switch it, but I just am not sure how to go about testing/replacing it. Any suggestions? Also looking for whatever else may cause this problem. I doubt all three bulbs/receptacles are at fault :)

Turns out the switch was misaligned. Tested this by removing the switch, and plugging it back in to the harness. When I plugged it in, the left light came on, the right light and the window light did not. The window light had something wrong with the wiring because I loosened the housing and it came on, I tightened it back up and it comes on when its supposed to... the right light had a bulb out...
I am taking it to the dealer to get the switch put back in.... I got it out with some difficulty, but could not get it back in...
