3.1 litre -V6 with 125K on it . Check engine code comes up .Had the car brought to Autozone to read the code , misfire #6 cylinder. The car idles really rough but as ya get along not so bad except the midrange seems to have a bit of a dead zone and the pick-up on the car is terrible. Picked up plugs (Bosch-I know after reading should of got AC) and a set of wires to eliminate them as the causes. Gapped plugs at .060 like I was told ,used anti-seize and ran the wires. Started it up and it idles worse than before. Checked my wires for being crossed. Correct me if I'm wrong but looking at the front of the car from left to right starting with the front--Cylinders are 2-4-6-now the back would be 1-3-5- if thats the case then I did everything right. Also the check light is now flashing from what my stepdaughter says its been doing this for about a week. Now if thats true then I have a fuel injector problem and/or vacuum. Didn't see any vacuum lines running around but also had to get the car back home from my brothers shop to get my 7 year old daughter. I needs me some help and I need it quick. Please, pretty pretty, please and thanks for all the info you guys on this board give. Its a lifesaver and a money saver to us all.--Chris

Try checking you map sensor. When I did a intake gasket I forgot to hook up the vacum line and it did just what yours is doing. Another thing is to check the wires going on the plugs. Make sure they are on tight. Or you may have knocked the vacum line off by the coil pack.

Just wanted to repost since my stepdaughter had just come home with her car. She only works about 2 miles away and she needed the car. The car also smells like like gas alot especially at idle she says , has total loss of power .Sounds like it has alot of unburnt fuel from the miss. It revs at about 4,000 rpm and just about gets out of its own way. I had to knock something off. I checked the boots for the plugs and its getting plenty of spark and they are all tight. Are there any more things I could would or should check first thing in the morn. I had to knock something off since the car was no-way this bad before I started this supposed simple operation. Any and all help no matter what would be greatly appreciated. I'm feelin like 1 crappy dad and and even worse mechanic-----Chris
