HELP GMC'ers!

Update, just in case youe missed the first time around here is the story and update. Had recently had an oil change on my 97 Jimmy. Within a week blew the gasket on the oil filter just by starting it up. Had it towed to my brother in laws. Replaced the filter and tried again. This time oil pressure spiked to 80 PSI, with tapping in the heads. Within 20 seconds blew the oil filter gasket AGAIN.
UPDATE. Took down the oil cooling lines, filter flange and manifold cooling line adapter to check for blocks (all springs clear and functioning). Next we plan to disaseemble the oil pan and try replacing the oil pump and check TPR on pump. Any other ideas what may be causing the blockage? Really strange. Oil is clear with no metal frags too!

Check the bypass valve in the block. Remove the adaptor thet connects the oil lines to the block to see it from below.

I believe we did check this. We drop the adaptor check the ports and clean. Look up and pushed the spring on the hole facing downward. Oil did began to come out. There is a side hole that goes into the engine with what looks like a rod through the center. Not sure if this is what you a refering to as the bypass valve.

Hey guys, just an update to you all. Found out what was up. the pressure reilef went on the oil pump. Also the internal gears in the oil pump were grinding down the housing at the center (mixing high with low oil pressure). The hardest thing in this whole process was getting the transaxle out of the way. What a Bitch. Anyways, keep you posted.
