After getting a fingerprint on a freshly painted car (silver), I nearly smashed the thing up so I put this together last night to try feel a bit better. A simple kit and quite a bit of fun. I managed to get the base coat on and I'm pretty happy.

How do I paint camo onto it? I was thinking of masking areas off. Is this the way to go?

what scale is that? as for cammo, I would suggest getting some stuff called parafilm-M I think it's marketed by testors. just roll it upin long skinny strands, and make your cammo outlines, then lay paper cut to the shape of the pattern on the tape, and spray your colors. this will give a nice soft edge that looks very much like a scale free hand spray job.

I think it's 1/35th scale.

If you have an airbrush, you could just freehand it.

Is that the M151A1(?) jeep-like truck, or a real Jeep? The M151 has a fully independant suspension. I got one of those for the same reason, a quick, easy build without worrying about the finish. But it was such a nice model, I could bear to give it the 'quick and dirty' treatment LOL.

is this supposed to be in camo? or maybe just olive drab? im not sure but its such a nice model you should really take your time with whatever you decide on doing. Parafilm as Rsxse suggested works great and is used alot by airplane modellers to get their camo patterns. if this isnt an option, finely rolled masking tape works good too and continue with the paper cutouts. but i think i would freehand it like Steve says. if you dont have an airbrush, brush paint and coat it with dullcoat to hide some of the brushmarks and tie it all together. i know about those fingerprints, i feel your pain!

It is the 1/35 Ford Mutt from Tamiya. It is a cool little kit. I'll try the camo ideas when I mess up more other models! Its just a time filler really, but it is so much fun. I'll probably put it in a little diorama with some figures or something.
