Yet Another Synthetic Oil Thread

I Searched, there are alot.
But here is my question.
I bought my truck about a year ago and it had an oil change 2 months before i bought it and only had been driven 1,000 miles since the change. So i didnt stay with the normal 3 month 3,000 mile intrival. (which is bogous anyway. my dad takes it to 7-8,000 every time on conventional oil and never had any problems all the way up to nearly 300,000 miles in one vehicle and over 180,000 in the other vehicle, both where still running good when we sold them). The guy always got the oil changed by Jiffy lube (had a stack of jiffy lube stickers on the windsheild 5 deep) which means they used cheap 5w30 conventional oil.
Today i went and got 5qts of Mobil1 5w30 Fully synthetic and Fram Tough Guard oil filter. over the next few months im doing a gradual full tune up including spark plugs, wires, all fluids, vacume tubes, and possibly a higher voltage coil pack.
My question is, since it has been ran for over 7,000 miles now and almost a year w/o a change im sure it isnt going to be pretty when i yank the plug out. however, i know synthetic can disolve more crap and run longer in the engine w/ a good filter. Fram is a good brand and that is what im stayign with. Ive seen engines with some larger modifications run fine with Fram and other high quality oil filters but when the owners where cheap, switched to crappy ones for 3-4changes and upon tear down found a lot of crap including small griany metal shavings down in the sump :uhoh: .
ok well anyway, back to my question, i plan on changin it out agian after 4,000-5,000 miles. staying with Synthetic how long could i go before another oil change?

Most manufacturers (automotive not oil) recomend 6000 mile, some recomend 7200 mile. Thats on conventional. I know alot of people that run synthetic that never change it, just change the filter and add top it off every 3000, and never had any problems. I'v also seen motors that never live past 100,000 miles with all the regular maintance, and motors live well beyond 200,000 with practically no maintance. Just keep your oil checked, if it looks dirty... change it.
