My car has like no oil pressure and i dont know why....At first it was low on oil but then i topped it off and my pressure was still at 0 at idle...when i punch it the gauge barely moves maybe to like 10 or 20 but thats it.The car runs fine sounds fine all exept for the no oil pressure....i dont know if this contributes to the problem although it hasnt happend before...but my car seams to eat 1 quart of oil about 1000 miles....i have not one leak under my car ever and i have no smoke...i cant find out why its doing this..any help will be nice.
thanks in advance...
o and its a 91rs 305tbi with 700r4 supposably only around 60000 miles on the engine...

Oil pressure sending unit... try changing that.

Does your car gradually loose oil, or is it all of a sudden its down a quart? If its gradual, its going to be a small leak, probably around the oil pan gasket, drain plug and pressure sending unit, as well as valve cover gaskets, the usual suspects. If its a sudden loss, the only way may be to tear the motor apart. I did a 3.3 in a buick that had the mystery sudden disappearance, ended up never finding the problem. Good luck.

Does the car make any noises such as knocking?

no noise it runs perfect other than the missing oil and the gauge problem....and on the oil....im not sure if its all at once or over time ill start looking at it more...it cant be a leak cause i park in the same spot everyday i go home and there is not one drop on the driveway. And on the way home ill have someone drive behind me to see if im burning oil...but i never smell any...

Change the oil/filter and test the sending unit like Morley suggest. Probably your best bet. Hopefully its not the oil pump but hell thats better than a spun bearing but you most likely don't have that due to lack of other signs.

Yeah don't panic until you hear a big CRACK on acceleration....lots of fun.

Sending unit. I think mine was around $40.

I'm agreeing with the sender or the gage itself. Did you trace the wire up from the sender? I've seen them fall apart from being baked under the hood over the years.
On the plus side, if you had no oil pressure, the engine would be making a very noticeable clatter from the valve train.
