I need to know the pattern measurements for a 1990 gt. I bought a "Universal" pair of 5 lugs and somehow they wont fit onto my car. I want to get the measurements so i can go buy another set of rims and this time ill know for sure they fit. In the meantime i have a set of 16x7 inch american racings rims 5 lug if anybody wants to buy them for super cheap.

they fit the universal 5x100 rims (also called 5x114.5 i think) but u need to check the offset of the rim. To fit a 90-93 GT u need a 38 to 42mm offset. hope this helps:confused:

All celica use 5x100 pattern. sometimes, 5x114.5 pattern also exist together in a set of wheel that is 5x100. ~~> The wheel has 10 holes, which are actually 2 star-pattern 5x100 (smaller pattern) and 5x114.5 (larger pattern) TIPS: Make sure you get the right aftermarket locks too, ask for the measurement for celica locks in any auto store before you buy anything that won't fit.
BTW; can't you get an adapter to fit in your wheels?

I dont know ANYTHING about rims... i know they were 5 lugs and sopposed to be universal but the celica's pattern was to small for both patterns. Where do i get adapters and how do i know what i need? What are locks and how do i measure?
Is there something i can read to understand better....
And i also started thinking... i bout it used could the present owner have change the rotors or whatever and changed the bolt pattern?

did the car have oem toyota rims to begin with? If so i dont think that the previous owner changed em. But there's always the chance. Best bet, take the car to a wheel shop or a buddy's house...someone who knows a little bout rims and see what they think. Also, just take a look on the inside of the rims and try to see if you see the bolt pattern and the offset printed on the wheel (small writting).

IF everything is OEM and unchanged, (it is unlikely to change wheel hub size and everything... a lil bit of a hassle to begin with.) THEN, what you're looking for is a rim w 5x100 patterns such as;
http://www.wheelguyz.com/shop/details.asp?prodid=ZR-5&cat=64&path=
OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS ONE ( w/ two patterns 5x100 and 5x114.5)
http://www.wheelguyz.com/shop/details.asp?prodid=ZR-5&cat=64&path=
You won't need the 5x114.5 holes(larger pattern)...
What size of wheels are you looking for?
16x7 means 16in diameter, x 7in thickness~> to accomodate tire thickness.
For the tires; 16 inchers..
16x7 --> 205/45-16 (thin tire) or 205/50-16 (medium, recomended)
16x7.5 --> 215/45 -16 (thin) or 215/50-16 (med)
LOCKS-> the bolts to fasten the wheels...
Make sure you have the right "tuner" lugs/bolts (also called aftermarket "tuner" wheel locks) as well, since your stock lugs won't fit in the rims' holes.
You can get these in pep boys/napa/autozone for 30 dollars, and the right size is 12x1.5 mm. The locks look like this:
http://www.ezaccessory.com/.sc/ms/bdd/ee/40/Chrome%20Acorn%20Tuner%20Lug%20Nuts%2012x1%2E50
An adapter kit will get your 5 lugs to fit a 4 lugs. Im not sure if theres any 5x100 into 5x114.5 adapter kit... but anyway, my guess is that the american racing wheels you got now is 5x114.5 pattern, and thats why it wont fit.

How do i measure what my pattern is whether it is 5x100 or 5x 114? etc
Because the space between all the bolts are only about 3 inches from the top to the bottom..

Have you tried to fit the rims in? bc Im sure that you either have a 5x100 OR 5x114.3 ... where either pattern can fit... though it is unlikely that you have a 5x114.3 (bigger pattern), since these are usually found in Fords and other domestics.... Im not so sure into which measurement points that "100" or "114" figure relates to. Maybe the diameter of the circular pattern in milimeters? 100mm being 10cm, or something like 3.9 inches... and 114mm being almost 4.5 inches...which is also called the "5x4.5".

Yeh i measured the smaller pattern which i assume is 5x100 and it measured 4 and 1/4 AND the larger pattern was 4 and 1/2. My wheels i measured was was 3 and 1/2 inches. For example i measured like that. .

My patter is VERY small for some reason? any ideas

How can i attach and image... i was comparing the pattern of my rims and the pattern of other universal rims... and My pattern looks like its too patters of like.... 5x114 and 5x113 the size different between the 2 patterns are almost unnoticable but other pictures i see the patterns are noticably different.

5x113? how odd? thats really strange... you mean the rims smaller pattern is 113 right? or something close to 4.25 in diameter? but if its true, then no wonder if it wont fit yours, bc your measurement is 5x100, (since you said its smaller in comparison to the other patterns). I dont know how to attach an image yet, but when you figure it out, post the pic. BTW, where and how did you get a hold of these wheels? if they're used, what car were they on?

Yeh they are bigger than my 5x100 for sure the smallest pattern measured liek 4.25 the larger was 4.5 so idk what they are... they came off a 1990 eagle talon tsi.. and i looked up a different universal rim from the same company and they said it fit both my car and the talon so like and idiot i bought them without tryin them on haha No problem tho... i sold them for double what i paid for this weekend.

@ least you get you $ back (or more). The sellers are there to sell... not tell us what will fit what...he/she must think that a "universal fit" will fit just anything...in reality is just not that obvious.
